A number of Shiites in Afghanistan criticize the Taliban government’s restrictions on how to hold religious ceremonies in the month of Muharram
They claim that restrictions have been placed on holding religious ceremonies in the month of Muharram in the mosques of their areas.
On the other hand, in a letter, a copy of which has been published on social networks, the joint committee between the Taliban and Shia religious scholars have agreed on some restrictions on how to hold the Muharram mourning ceremony.
Based on this letter, the authenticity of which has been confirmed by several Afghan Shia elders, the Taliban have imposed unprecedented restrictions on the celebration of the Muharram decade.
