The Purple Saturdays movement welcomed the approval of the bill to cut off foreign financial aid to the Taliban by the US House of Representatives.

This protest movement, by publishing a statement on Friday, 28th of june, considered international financial aid as one of the reasons for the survival of the Taliban government.

The declaration states: “We believe that theft, abuse of foreign financial aid and the access of the Taliban group to the humanitarian aid of the international community, especially the United States of America, have indirectly led to the support and maintenance of this group in power.” »

Although the international community has said that these aids are given to the needy to deal with the crisis in Afghanistan, the protesting women in this movement believe that the Taliban are using these aids to build schools and promote extremism

“Using these donations, the Taliban group severely suppressed the Afghan people, especially women, vulnerable ethnic groups, and religious minorities, and by committing crimes against humanity, gender discrimination, and creating fear and intimidation among the Afghan people, they started consolidating their power bases. It becomes illegal. They are proud.”

In the announcement, Sirajuddin Haqqani’s travel exemption will be extended again; The United Nations Security Council has considered the Interior Minister of the Taliban as a great victim of the people of Afghanistan.

“We ask the United Nations and the Security Council of this organization to return to their original duty and support the people of Afghanistan instead of supporting the Taliban terrorists.”
