In a statement released on Thursday, the UN Women Department called Afghanistan a “graveyard of hope” for girls who are deprived of education.

“As the world struggles to get more girls into ICT, Afghanistan has become a graveyard of buried hopes for the millions of Afghan girls who have dropped out of school,” UN Women said.

But Afghan women and girls do not give up. And we won’t do that either.” The organization added.

UN Women reaffirmed its support for their struggle for education.

This statement is made while girls have been banned from studying in secondary schools in Afghanistan for the past three years, and women have been banned from attending universities since December 2022.
