The Taliban Torture a Detained Doctor in Parwan Province
Local sources from Jabal al-Saraj district in Parwan province tell VOF that Taliban intelligence forces arrested Mohammad Sharif Ayoubi, a doctor from this province, about six months ago.

According to the sources, in addition to being sentenced to imprisonment by the Taliban court, he is still subjected to severe and inhumane torture.

Sources close to the doctor report that Taliban intelligence forces, beyond the court’s ruling, subject him to daily torture of various kinds in Bagram prison, actions that violate all Islamic and human standards.

Some members of the Taliban in Parwan claim that Mohammad Sharif Ayoubi was arrested for treating one of the wounded fighters of the National Resistance Front.

Witnesses and released prisoners from Taliban detention recount that the group uses brutal methods, such as heated iron rods, to torture detainees.

Reliable sources have added that some detainees die during torture or suffer severe injuries, which in some cases lead to suicide among prisoners.
